Job Summary

Specializes in contracts/transactions law and is responsible for contracts administration functions within a dynamic growing company.
Negotiates, interprets, and administers all aspects of SaaS contracts for Bugcrowd services, as well as contracts with Bugcrowd vendors.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Engage in continuous learning -- you will work closely with our General Counsel, who taught IP Transactions at UC Berkeley School of Law, and our highly experienced Director of Legal,  who will provide training and coaching as we want you to be a world class technology transactions expert, and in turn you will leverage your expertise and your diverse experiences to provide training and coaching to the GC and team 
Strategize with company management and internal clients over business and contractual objectives
Learn and become expert in the cybersecurity industry, developing highly valuable and marketable skills as cybersecurity is fast becoming one of the most important forces in the tech space
Draft, develop, prepare, review, and negotiate a high volume of sophisticated contracts and other related documents, including but not limited to SaaS, crowdsourcing transactions, master services agreements, data processing/privacy agreements, consulting, license, and vendor agreements, and government contracts
Combine business and legal expertise to contribute to initiatives to create innovative contract solutions to meet business objectives
Communicate at all levels of the organization to inform of contractual risks, benefits, and negotiation status
Analyze proposed and existing contracts, craft company policies, monitor and ensure legal compliance, and advise management on legal matters to guard the organization against the risk of legal liability
Support the development and implementation of standardized processes and procedures
Collaborate with members of the Legal team as well as the Executive Management team to align departmental strategy and direction with the overall goals of the organization


Experience

4+ years of combined legal (commercial) experience in a law firm and an in-house legal department with a global technology company, and active membership in at least one state bar (preference for CA or NY)


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Performs work with a high degree of autonomy. 
Experience leading contract negotiations with customers and vendors. 
Possesses expert knowledge of contracts and technology transactions law. 
Comfortable working in a rapid-growth, fast paced environment and love negotiating complex commercial transactions.
Demonstrate broad knowledge of legal drafting principles related to contracts.
Ability to distill complex concepts into clear contractual language and in your interactions with internal clients.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Ability to successfully manage competing priorities.
Excellent judgment, attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Ability to handle ambiguity, juggle multiple matters at once, and quickly shift from one situation or task to another.
A collaborative approach and demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, cross-functionally, and independently.
Ready to take on the challenge of helping us scale our legal services as we continue on our rapid expansion


Working Conditions

The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Sitting and/or standing - Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time

Carrying and /or lifting - Must be able to carry / move laptop as needed throughout the work day.

Environment - remote, work-from-home 100% of the time.

Pay Range Disclosure

The provided salary details are based on US national averages and we retain the flexibility to tailor to the needs of the business. The national estimate for the current base range for the Legal Counsel position is $130,000 - $220,000
