The Mission
Caylent is seeking a Legal Operations Specialist who is experienced working cross-functionally with other teams to grow a thriving AWS-consulting services business. The ideal candidate for this role will thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment and be comfortable with independently executing on assigned tasks. Reporting to the Contracts and Legal Operations Manager, the Legal Operations Specialist will be responsible for assisting the Legal Department with each of the following:
Your Assignment
- Continuous improvement advocacy: continuously align and improve contracting practices to improve business performance.
- Proactively identify and understand the needs of internal stakeholders.
- Maintain records and document management systems.
- Promote company culture and vision.
- Other legal/operational responsibilities as they arise.
- Work with General Counsel, and Contracts and Legal Operations Manager to coordinate the review, negotiation, and execution of company contracts and other documents.
- Collaborate with Sales on client contracts, ensuring compliance with negotiation parameters and contract terms.
- Track ongoing company compliance with contractual terms/covenants.
- Assist with Legal Department initiatives including IP portfolio management, litigation, immigration, and entity management.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and processes; stay informed and make others aware of relevant activities, procedures, and policies.
- Work with Human Resources, Finance, and other departments in connection with legal matters, including employment agreements and compensation plans, collections, and internal policy documents.
Your Qualifications
- Expertise in reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial, licensing, and other technology-related agreements.
- Proactive, dynamic and result driven individual with strong attention to detail.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, the ability to interface effectively with all business functions throughout the organization.
- Enthusiasm and "self-starter" qualities enabling them to manage responsibilities with an appropriate sense of urgency; the ability to function effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced & dynamic environment.
- Superior analytical ability, project management experience, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage internal customer priorities and needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience at a growth-stage technology company.
- BA, paralegal certificate, or equivalent work experience preferred.

The base salary range for this position is CAD 79,000.00 - CAD 97,000.00 If you are hired at Caylent, your base salary is determined on factors such as skills, experience, geographic location, and other market conditions. While it's not typical for offers to be made at the top of the range, please keep in mind that the base salary range is only one component of your overall compensation. Additionally, you are eligible for the benefits, bonuses, and incentives as listed above in the job description!
