Maintenance Handyman with Master Plumbing Skills

Job description – Maintenance Handyman General Maintenance Goundsman (“Handyman”). Midtown Manhattan 241 apartment, seven story residential housing facility is looking for a General Maintenance “Handyman”. Candidates should have a minimum of FIVE YEARS experience in professional NYC building maintenance. Uniforms are provided. Position is FULL TIME. Compensation based on experience and presentation at interview. Responsibilities and Skills: · Knowledge of NYC housing /building codes and inspections · Janitorial Management · Hybrid oil-gas boiler systems · Major plumbing, (Master Plumber Preferred) · Electrical, framing and drywall knowledge · Basic hand tool use; such as drills, screw-guns, jigsaws, circular saws, tape measures, chop-saws, caulk-guns, snow blowers, dumpster dollies, power washers, generators, leaf blowers, bolt cutters, pneumatic nailers, etc. · Experience with NYS trash/recycling removal · Experience with elevator systems and operations · Exposure to trash compactor operations and maintenance · Landscaping and snow removal · Basic computer skills including Outlook, Word, online account management systems. · Ability to provide excellent customer service · Ability to follow instructions and to work independently or as part of a team · Attention to detail · Good communication skills, both verbal and written · Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively Bilingual, (English-Spanish) speaking candidates will be STRONGLY considered. Prefer candidate to have fast and easy commute to the Midtown West side of Manhattan. Flexible schedule and ability to work weekends and holidays as required. Must have strong tenant-service aptitude and skills. Looking for a self-starter type that can “own” work-orders and maintenance tasks.
