This role sits at the core of large-scale data center automation, leading the delivery of advanced Building Automation Systems across complex, mission-critical environments.
You will oversee end-to-end automation projects that support the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of next-generation data center infrastructure.
The position plays a key role in ensuring automation systems are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with operational and engineering standards.
You will manage a team of automation specialists while collaborating closely with engineering, construction, IT, and operations stakeholders.
A strong emphasis is placed on standardization, technical excellence, and continuous improvement across multi-site deployments in North America.
This is a high-impact leadership role where your expertise directly contributes to the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of critical infrastructure systems.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of automation and building management system projects, ensuring alignment with business strategy, construction timelines, and operational requirements.
  • Manage and mentor a team of automation subject matter experts responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting building automation systems across multiple data center campuses.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and technical documentation to ensure delivery on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Oversee procurement activities for automation and construction-related systems, ensuring vendor coordination and timely delivery of critical components.
  • Collaborate closely with construction management, engineering, IT, and operations teams to resolve scheduling challenges and align project priorities.
  • Review technical submittals, CAD drawings, RFIs, and system documentation to support design accuracy and implementation quality.
  • Lead commissioning activities for new builds, ensuring proper system integration, calibration, and operational readiness.
  • Drive troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex automation and controls issues across facilities.
  • Establish and enforce standardized processes, documentation, and best practices across IT/OT automation environments.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing operational efficiency, system reliability, and team capability through training and mentorship.

  • Requirements:

    • 5–7+ years of experience in automation, controls systems, or building management system environments.
    • Proven experience leading automation or controls teams in complex, multi-site operational settings.
    • Strong technical understanding of building automation systems, PLCs, field devices, and IT/OT integration environments.
    • Experience managing end-to-end project delivery, including planning, execution, commissioning, and operational handover.
    • Ability to interpret technical documentation such as CAD drawings, RFIs, submittals, and engineering specifications.
    • Strong leadership and people management skills with a focus on mentoring and team development.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and SharePoint for documentation, reporting, and collaboration.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across engineering, construction, and operations teams.
    • Ability to travel up to 25% as required by project needs.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, or a related technical field preferred.
