This role sits at the center of engineering execution and portfolio delivery, ensuring that complex R&D programs are delivered with consistency, predictability, and high quality across a regulated, innovation-driven environment. You will lead and develop a team of program managers while defining and scaling best-in-class program management practices across engineering and product development functions. The position plays a critical role in aligning execution with strategic roadmaps, ensuring effective prioritization, and enabling strong cross-functional collaboration across engineering, quality, regulatory, and operations teams. You will oversee a diverse portfolio of programs, balancing competing priorities while maintaining focus on cost, schedule, quality, and customer impact. Acting as both a strategic leader and execution enabler, you will strengthen governance frameworks, reporting standards, and decision-making processes at the portfolio level. Accountabilities:

In this role, you will lead program management execution across R&D portfolios while establishing governance, alignment, and continuous improvement across engineering delivery processes.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of program managers, fostering accountability, performance, and professional growth
  • Define and implement program management standards, tools, and best practices across engineering and R&D functions
  • Oversee a portfolio of complex engineering programs, ensuring delivery against cost, schedule, quality, and performance objectives
  • Drive portfolio planning, prioritization, resource allocation, and capacity management in alignment with strategic objectives
  • Establish governance frameworks, reporting structures, and performance metrics for program execution and portfolio health
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment across engineering, product, quality, regulatory, and operations teams
  • Provide escalation support for risks, issues, budgets, and resource challenges, ensuring timely resolution
  • Lead executive-level reporting, reviews, and decision-making forums, ensuring transparency and accountability
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization, knowledge sharing, and reuse of best practices
  • Ensure compliance with design controls, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies
  • Requirements:

    This role requires strong leadership experience in program or portfolio management within complex engineering or regulated environments, along with excellent strategic and execution capabilities.

    • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience
    • Proven experience leading program managers and managing large, complex engineering or technology portfolios
    • Strong understanding of engineering workflows, structured development processes, and design control environments
    • Experience working in regulated industries is highly preferred
    • Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills
    • Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management abilities
    • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a data-driven decision-making approach
    • Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple complex programs simultaneously
    • Proficiency in MS Office and standard business productivity tools
    • Preferred: experience in hardware product development, design engineering, or service tooling environments
