About the Role:
The Manager Derivatives Operations is responsible for leading the firm's Derivatives Operations function including futures options on futures equity options trade allocation clearing support physical delivery processing exercise and assignment activity exception management and related operational controls. This role provides strategic and day-to-day leadership for teams supporting highly regulated time-sensitive and risk-critical clearing processes across multiple products exchanges clearing houses client segments and internal platforms.
The ideal candidate is a proactive people leader risk manager and change agent who can balance daily execution with longer-term operational improvement. This role requires the ability to lead diverse teams drive accountability partner effectively across global stakeholders and continuously improve the operating environment through metrics data analysis process discipline automation AI-enabled productivity tools and strong supervisory controls.
This position is based in our Chicago office and requires a min of 3 days per week onsite in office.
Job Responsibilities:

- Change & Transformation Leadership: Leads process technology and organizational change while ensuring successful implementation and adoption.
- Stakeholder Management & Collaboration: Builds strong partnerships across clients operations risk compliance technology exchanges and clearing organizations.
- Communication & Executive Presence: Clearly communicates complex operational and regulatory matters while demonstrating professionalism and judgment.
- Client Focus & Service Orientation: Balances client needs with operational excellence risk management and business objectives.
- Strategic Thinking & Execution: Aligns operational activities with business goals and delivers results in a dynamic regulated environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in financial services operations clearing derivatives operations trade support middle office operational risk controls or related capital markets functions including 2+ years of people leadership.
- Relevant industry licensing or certification (such as SIE Series 7 Series 3 Series 99 or other role-appropriate credentials) as required.
- Strong leadership communication negotiation project management and prioritization skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and communicate complex issues to senior management.
- Experience using metrics KPIs KRIs dashboards and data analysis to monitor performance identify risks and drive continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated success leading operational change process improvements issue remediation audit and compliance responses and regulatory readiness in a high-volume regulated environment.
- Experience developing and maintaining procedures controls supervisory reviews escalation protocols and operational documentation.
- Working knowledge of industry and workflow tools such as CME/OCC/ICE platforms Salesforce Tableau SQL Power BI Confluence Jira or similar technologies.
- Experience supporting projects system enhancements business requirements UAT implementation training and post-production reviews.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity tools and intelligent automation including governance controls and data security considerations.
Below is the expected base salary for this position. Offers will ultimately be determined based on experience education skill set and performance in the interview process. This position will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
Annual base salary not including discretionary bonus eligibility: $125000+
