What you will be doing

As of August 24, 2021, AmerisourceBergen requires all U.S. team members to be fully vaccinated and show proof of completed vaccine status at time of hire.   • Responsible for the selection, training, and performance management for the Business Development Specialists (BDS).
  • Responsible for daily performance accountability of these roles while reinforcing a team-oriented, customer-focused approach. Oversees the overall performance of the roles to ensure compliance with policies, practices and approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Coaches, develops and guides the BDS to ensure key performance measures (quality lead generation in new business and EPA referrals) and in-process measures (such as completed calls, total effort, average talk time, total talk time, hours logged, call monitors, etc) are met.
  • When appropriate, assists directly in customer/prospect calls to help develop leads and appropriately support the prospecting process.
  • Works collaboratively with field new business leadership to create an environment where the BDS role can be integrated, effective and efficient. Be a champion of new and improved processes for making new business more seamless, coordinated and efficient across CSP.
  • Works with BDS to ensure they have prospect ('territory') call plans to ensure they are targeting the right prospects, with the right frequency and have all documentation for their activities in ABForce
  • Provides comprehensive prospect plans and identifying gaps between actual and goal performance along with action plans to close the gaps
  • Creates reports and plans that track the impact and value of the BDS role to the field NB. Shares proactively and in a regular cadence with VP, Remote Sales and Field Sales
  • In cooperation with SEs and BDS, creates skill progression plans. Acts as a mentor to help sales associates achieve their development goals and helps them appropriately utilize the resources of ABC (e.g., training)
  • Performs related duties as assigned being a people leader, including Focused Check-In and Year End Reviews and managing through any performance related issues.

What your background should look like

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelors degree program, technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education; Normally requires a minimum of seven (7) years directly related and progressively responsible experience. Must have demonstrated proven success in consultative inside sales, including at least two (2) years at a supervisory level.
