Job Summary
Under the direction of the Sr. Marketing Director, the Public Relations Manager will support the company's public relations and corporate communications efforts. This position will serve as a company liaison between The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection corporate team, Marriott International Luxury Global Brand PR team and PR Agency to assist in fielding media inquiries, preparing media kits, drafting and editing press releases, maintaining press lists, organizing executive interviews, and coordinating press visits. This position will also assist in the development of all internal and external corporate communications required to support the needs of the business.
Essential Functions
- Manage day-to-day communication with Marriott International Luxury Global Brand PR team and PR agency
- Apply brand knowledge to assist in drafting, editing and reviewing of PR materials, including press releases, media alerts, interview briefing documents, executive responses, and featured articles
- Liaison with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors to assist in editing, reviewing and routing of vendor-led press releases and related materials for approval
- Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to coordinate and assist in drafting all corporate communications including letters, interdepartmental memos, guest notifications, crisis communications, talking points, and other business correspondence
- Coordinate individual press trip requests, familiarization voyages and media visits to the yacht
- Support in the coordination of yacht milestone events and activities with appropriate personnel
- Support broader Marketing team with initiatives tied to media and influencer relations
- Collaborate and align with The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection Marketing team, Marriott International Luxury Global Brand PR team and PR Agency to ensure the pull-through of corporate and brand strategies and messaging
- Update and maintain press center on company website including content, images and press releases
- Assist in administration duties such as accounting, status reports and metric/measurement reporting
- Conduct consistent competitive analysis and monitor industry trends

Competency
Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related field preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 4-year experience in communications, media relations and/or related experience required; public relations agency or campaign communications experience preferred; travel or hospitality experience a plus
Skills:
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading abilities are required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Strong planning capabilities to meet the deadlines required to support media and business needs
- Ability to interact with senior leaders and build effective relationships within the company, external stakeholders, guests and media
- Experience in pitching and comfortable reaching out to top-tier media
- Detail-oriented; exceptional organizational and follow-up skills
- Deadline-oriented; ability to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them on a timely basis - operates with a sense of urgency
- Team player with a positive attitude who works well cross-functionally
- Resourceful, creative self-starter who takes initiative to learn processes and get things done with little supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position, working at least two (2) days a week from our downtown Fort Lauderdale office. The office environment is typical, with quiet-to-moderate noise generated by computer printer, fax machine and light traffic. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Physical Demands
Requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching. May require lifting or pushing up to 25 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, the telephone, and other office equipment.
Expected Hours of Work
The position is fulltime and frequently requires working additional time outside of normal business hours.
