Paylocity is currently seeking a Security Engineering Manager to join our rapidly growing Information Security organization. The Security Engineering Manager will lead a team security engineers and architects to maintain and implement next generation security tools, while also providing guidance back key stakeholders around security architectural practices.
Reporting to the Director of Information Security, this position will also work closely with a variety of internal stakeholders to execute Paylocity's corporate-wide security initiatives. The manager in this key role will also ensure that Paylocity's security operations processes are functioning effectively and will oversee operations metrics.

During the first three months, you will:

• Gain operational control over a suite of modern security products that help protect Paylocity on a daily basis
• Lead our efforts to complete in-flight implementation projects for new security tools
• Provide risk assessment and advice to our IT teams around security architecture best practices
• Work closely with our threat management team to collaborate on expanding the scope of our current initiatives around threat intelligence, detection and monitoring, and vulnerability management.
• Build program management and project management structures into security engineering initiatives
• Provide key inputs into our security group's annual budget and roadmap

In the last 6 months you would have:

• Managed a team responsible for maintaining and/or implementing the foundational security tools needed to run a next generation information security organization (SIEM, Endpoint Detection and Response, Privileged Account Vaults, Vulnerability Management, Threat intelligence, etc.)
• Provided consultative advice and risk assessment for IT projects that span both on-prem and cloud architectures
• Collaborated with other areas of information security to ensure that security requirements are met
• Provided our executive leadership team with timely updates to ensure awareness of security risks
• Solved complex business problems and offered recommendations to drive change and deliver results
• Applied business intelligence to analyze data from logs and monitoring to produce meaningful alerts and reports for potential security incidents
• Analyzed data collected to determine if there are any security anomalies that require further action, and if so classify and document the incident, escalate significant security incidents
• Worked collaboratively with IT and Software Development to continually improve security posture
• Provided input on emerging threats to executives to update our corporate risk analysis
• Represented Paylocity in the Information Security arena through vendor relations and participation in professional organizations

Required Experience:

• At least 7 years of experience in Information Security
• At least 2-3 years managing a security engineering function
• Bachelor's degree with a preference for computer science, information security, management information systems, or related major
• Project management skills
• Good communication skills (written and verbal)
• Possess business acumen and technical expertise to create a big-picture vision and has the drive and attention to detail that transforms strategy into action

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position in Colorado is $146,000 - $198,000 /yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
