Overview
The S&OP Manager will own all activities related to creating and maintaining the demand plan. They will manage a multi-state planning team dedicated to a select number of strategic suppliers. This role will be the Supply Chain conduit with the state and commercial leaders and tasked with collaborating with the commercial plan while preserving the planning strategy. This position requires strong analytical skills, interpersonal skills working cross-functionally, people management skills, ability to influence at multiple leadership levels.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the team as an expert statistical forecaster, develop best practices for assigned dedicated division
- Utilize the Blue Yonder software to model and create unconstrained statistical demand forecast based on demand history, market trends, seasonality, product mix, bias and other factors
- Identify and correct exceptions and anomalies in the statistical forecast that may impact accuracy; choose and apply the appropriate forecasting algorithms and parameters in accordance with regional/national policies
- Proactively collaborate with Commercial counterparts to incorporate value added intel to arrive at the best and most accurate forecast
- Monitor KPI targets to effectively allocate resources for maximum performance
- Coordinate and facilitate Forecast sign off meetings to provide visibility and alignment with leadership at multiple levels in the organization
- Serve as Supply Chain liaison to Commercial leaders; collaborate to review demand forecasting performance and identify/ implement processes and tools to improve the sharing of sales forecasts between Commercial and Operations
- Assist with corporate purchase requests and monitor adherence to the established process
Additional Primary Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required (technical field preferred) or equivalent work experience
- 7 years of experience in Supply Chain Operations, Business Planning or Statistical Modelling, required
- Strong analytical acumen, ability to think critically at the Supply Chain system level and understand interdependencies between demand, supply and operations
- Experience leading or managing decentralized teams - either direct reports or project-based teams
- Previous experience with statistical forecasting software and a working understanding of statistical modelling and business planning is a requirement; job role will require candidate to coach team in the use of JDA and serve as a forecasting expert
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions including with Commercial Leadership to present analyses, challenge thinking and influence outcomes
- Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint; comfortable with excel-based modelling
- Travel may be required, up to once per month

- Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
- May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
- Critical nature of this job may require extended hours, overtime and weekends
