This Role: As a Manager for Insikt Group’s Strategic and Persistent Threats (SPT) team, you will oversee and lead a team of threat intelligence analysts focused on tracking and authoring finished intelligence regarding the activities of Russian state-sponsored Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) groups. This role supports both client-driven finished intelligence reports on cyber espionage-related topics, as well as internally-driven research and monitoring efforts into threat actor infrastructure, tools, and TTPs. You will work closely with the Director of the SPT team to establish priorities, research direction, facilitate career development for your team, and represent the team’s research.

What you'll do: 

  • Lead a globally distributed team of intelligence analysts producing current and strategic finished intelligence reports on Russian APT activity, and servicing client RFIs with quick turnarounds and in the face of competing priorities
  • Collaborate with other teams across Insikt Group, review finished intelligence reports, and ensure that team output adheres to best practices, maintaining the highest quality
  • Research, track, and contribute to finished intelligence products on Russian APT activity
  • Mentor and develop analysts on intrusion analysis and threat intelligence best practices
  • Identify and help implement solutions for improving efficiency in research workflows, including automation
  • Stay on top of developments within the APT threat landscape and track key developments by following publications, blogs, and mailing lists
  • Represent Recorded Future at conferences and webinars, and engage with our clients 
  • Develop professional development and career advancement opportunities for your team
  • Review finished intelligence products to ensure they are of high quality, accurate, and adhere to Insikt Group standards

What you'll bring (required):

  • Knowledge of Russian state-sponsored APT groups, their tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), motivations
  • Ability to deliver day-to-day and maintain focus on long term growth and results
  • Demonstrably excellent writing, reviewing, and presentation skills; ability to convey complex concepts to multiple audiences
  • Talent for working directly with customers to determine requirements and consultatively guide them to the “best fit” solution
  • Exemplary organizational and interpersonal skills that allow you to respond to shifting priorities, work calmly under pressure, resolve conflict, and facilitate creative problem solving
  • Passion for working with people, service to others, and continual improvement. Adept at managing up, down, and across
  • Ability to effectively communicate with and work as part of a global team

Additional Skills/Experience (not required):

  • Previous experience as an intrusion analyst, or team/project lead
  • Experience successfully managing, developing, and mentoring employees
  • Knowledge of the Russian geopolitical landscape and interests
  • Working proficiency or better in Russian and/or Ukrainian
