About the opportunity
Ontra is seeking a manual QA Engineer reporting to our Director of Product on our R&D team.
The role is a great opportunity for someone who loves searching for problems within code, seeking issues, and enjoys the challenge of a scavenger hunt through a codebase that includes testing, providing feedback, and recommending alternative suggestions.
The QA Engineer will work across R&D to build a scalable QA process that helps our teams work more efficiently, ship robust solutions, and create alignment on product features from spec to ship. You will drive the efficiency and reliability of Ontra’s product offerings through thorough manual testing to understand and identify potential risks, bugs, or issues to provide a seamless experience for our users.

What you’ll do
- Instill quality: Promote a culture of quality throughout the product and data organizations
- Bug fixes: Work with the team to find, prioritize, and track bugs through resolution
- Test planning: Own the development and execution of test plans for features across various platforms and applications, including mobile web
- Test cases: Write comprehensive but digestible test cases & documentation to build a scalable QA process
- Promote growth: Help scale the QA team
What you’ll bring
- Experience: 1+ years experience manually QA’ing websites as part of a technical team
- Documentation: Exceptional documentation and testing skills
- Ability to scale: Experience building scalable QA processes
- Git knowledge: Good understanding of GitHub, branches, and pull requests, including deploying web branches to QA environments to facilitate testing
- Communication: Excellent communication skills and follow-through
- Web testing: Experience testing web applications
Colorado applicants only: The estimated annual cash salary for this role is $123,000. The total compensation package also includes benefits (as further detailed below) as well as unit-based compensation if applicable. Compensation for other locations may vary.*
