Mechanical Technician (Multiple Levels)

• Typically entry-level 0 - 2 years of experience.

• Familiarity with general best shop practices including PPE and shop safety requirements.

• Ability to perform basic equipment setup and maintenance activities and display general mechanical aptitude and hand tools/precision tools competency.

• Ability to learn and perform precision cleaning.

• Ability to learn 5S FOD and ESD awareness.

• Ability to conduct basic verification/troubleshooting of own work.

• Basic understanding of mechanical assemblies soldering harness routing inspection in-process testing precision cleaning and structural fabrication.

• Demonstrated progress towards formal training or education.

• Certifications: IPC & J-STD.

• A&P License.

• Communication skills (Both written and oral).

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or mechanical environment.

• Proficiency in using hand and power tools.

• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good communication skills and a willingness to learn and adapt.

Pay Range:

$22.74 - $31.28

• Knowledge of 5S FOD and ESD awareness.

• Proficient understanding of mechanical assemblies soldering harness routing inspection in-process testing precision cleaning and structural fabrication.

• Certifications: IPC & J-STD.

• A&P License.

• Strong communication skills (both written and oral).

• Understanding of mechanical systems and components.

The Mechanical Technician III position involves leading the assembly testing and maintenance of advanced mechanical systems and components to meet required specifications. In this advanced role you will work closely with engineers and lead technicians to ensure the quality and reliability of flight hardware. This position requires an advanced understanding of mechanical principles troubleshooting skills and a commitment to precision and safety. You will be involved in assembling major structures performing part-fitting operations for spacecraft systems and translating blueprints into mechanical assemblies. Additionally your tasks will include precision drilling using calibrated tools bonding troubleshooting and developing expert skills in precision cleaning and handling mechanical hardware.

• Mentor less experienced technicians in complex mechanical assemblies soldering harness routing inspection in-process testing precision cleaning and structural fabrication.

• Inspect assemble integrate and operationally check flight hardware as well as assemble test and maintain mechanical systems and components to meet specifications and standards.

• Use high-precision measurement tools to ensure components meet specified tolerances while adhering to general best shop practices including PPE and shop safety requirements.

• Follow 5S FOD and ESD awareness protocols lift and carry up to 50 lbs climb ladders stairs and work in restrictive spaces.

• Collaboration with team members to achieve production goals will also be a key part of your responsibilities.

• Typically 5+ years of experience in a mechanical or manufacturing environment.

• Familiarity with general best shop practices including PPE and shop safety requirements.

• Ability to perform advanced equipment setup and maintenance activities and display mechanical aptitude and hand tools/precision tools competency.

• Expertise in precision cleaning.

• Knowledge of 5S FOD and ESD awareness.

• Ability to conduct verification/troubleshooting of own work and assist others.

• Advanced understanding of mechanical assemblies soldering harness routing inspection in-process testing precision cleaning and structural fabrication.

• Certifications: IPC & J-STD.

• A&P License.

• Strong communication skills (both written and oral).

• Proficiency in using hand and power tools.

• Advanced understanding of mechanical systems and components.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Pay Range:

Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills education experience internal equity and market competitiveness.
