The Messaging/Exchange Specialist is part of the team that is responsible for the technical and administrative tasks associated with Raytheon Technologies (RTX) Exchange email service offerings, which encompass O365 Exchange Online and on-premise services. This role will play an instrumental role in developing the capabilities of the service while working closely with the Messaging Operations and Engineering to ensure continuity of service. Responsible for mentoring technical staff, contributor on moderate messaging projects and migration efforts, work on difficult and often complex problems and recommends improvements to the service.
This position can be based remotely within the continental United States.
• US Citizenship is required
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Clearance Level
Responsibilities:
Resolve escalated problems experienced from the service. Investigate root cause for incidents and oversee corrective action. Escalate to management as
required
Provides support, (administration, maintenance, monitoring, backup, contingency), for multiple messaging and collaboration technologies
Identifies and participates in improvement opportunities spanning service delivery, user experience, security, etc.
Performs root cause analysis of critical outage and incidents, engineer permanent solutions, and coordinate implementation
Monitor daily operations to ensure continuity of service
Participate in planning system upgrades of the on premise servers
Manage and monitor the O365 and on premise environment
Develop solutions to end user issues
Support technology evaluations of new features and functions
Participate in projects designed to enhance the Messaging service
Ensure changes, incidents, and new releases to the service are managed to RTX expectations
Suggest and participate in implementation of new processes as process gaps are defined and service matures
Participate in operational reviews and other service metrics as required
Provide written job aids to the Service Desk
Maintain existing and, as required, develop new documentation that will include but is not limited to SOPs and System Architecture Guides and diagrams adhering to organizational templates, policies, and standards
Serve as an expert to support the education and training of end users, working to increase end user proficiency and adoption of implemented solutions
Participate in 24/7 on call rotation
Required Skills:
Experience with both on premise and O365 Exchange deployments
Excellent understanding of Azure Active Directory and networking
Powershell scripting skills
An empathic focus on user needs and experience
Maintaining high levels of productivity while working remotely
Using excellent interpersonal and soft skills in solving user problems
A dedication to learning and mastering new technologies, tools, and methods
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
Experience with O365 GCC-High
Experience with Exchange administration
Experience with enterprise data centers, networking and firewalls.
Office 365 Directory Synchronization tool (DirSync)
Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS)
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and work independently, as well as work collaboratively with teams, some of which may be geographically distributed.
Experience implementing and managing email services in a multi-site, geographically-distributed enterprise
Education:
Typically Requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
