The Payments Platform team at PayPal is responsible for providing the next generation platform that can cater to the PayPal's ever growing payments processing needs in terms of a system which is highly available, scalable and has the lowest latency in payment processing. Payments Platform team in Bangalore is looking for an experienced and talented Engineering Manager to help build the next generation platform for wallet processing capabilities. This is exciting engineering work with a significant impact on delivering business goals. As a self- motivated and enthusiastic member of our team, you will work with extremely talented peers in a fun environment building performance efficient payment processing services that are highly scalable, configurable and available. You will be responsible for helping to build a payments engine that does real-time processing for millions of payments every single day for merchants that you probably shop at. You’ll work in an Agile environment with a focus on problem solving and engineering excellence.

Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of technical resources to deliver technology solutions and be the technical architect for the team.
- Be a thorough-leader; Proactively drive and influence the decision-making processes aligned with the organization goals; a self-starter, can make decisions without always asking others "what has to be done"
- Work with Product team closely on building the roadmap.
- Understand and analyze requirements to produce accurate estimation of delivery time for work items.
- Responsible for overall delivery of the team, following good development practices across all engineering processes.
- Work collaboratively, and efficiently with all internal and external partners and stakeholders (especially remote). Enable your team to clear road blocks and ensures timely delivery
- Align as well as prioritize, goals and resources, across organizational initiatives.
- Active in recruiting, interviewing/hiring, and coaching a team whose combined skill set meets the current and future needs of the organization.
- Mentor engineers, complete their appraisal and help them grow in their career; Help the team to consistently innovate and stay latest.
- Help in prioritization between customer issues and new development as needed
- Ensure compliance to IT policies, standards, practices, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent information processing operations
Requirements:
- Overall 8+ years of engineering experience.
- Degree in quantitative fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, Top-tier performance ratings from current and prior employers.
- 2+ years of engineering management experience.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, iterative, agile development environment.
- Track record of attracting top talents, building a high performing successful team, and working with cross-functional remote teams to launch new products.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to synthesize, simplify and explain complex problems to different types of audience. Comfortable to lead and influence without authority.
- Sound knowledge on latest technologies including Java/ J2EE, Oracle, NoSQL
- Working experience on Payments domain/platform is a plus.
