Pagination Specialist- Legal Notices (Contract)

Over the next month, the Pagination Specialist will play a critical role in the layout and design of our print editions, ensuring that our content is presented in an engaging and reader-friendly manner. They will be responsible for building full pages for our newspaper clients.

• Coordinate with editors, designers, and advertisers to determine the layout of content in the newspaper.
• Utilize pagination software to design and layout pages for daily and weekend editions.
• Ensure all pages meet established design standards and are free of errors before going to print.
• Make adjustments to layouts as needed based on breaking news or advertising changes.
• Collaborate with the editorial team to optimize the placement of photos, graphics, and headlines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any pagination issues or discrepancies.
• Keep abreast of design trends and innovations to ensure our layouts remain fresh and appealing.
• Work under tight deadlines to ensure timely delivery of print-ready files.

• Experience laying out newspaper pages for a newspaper publisher.
• Experience using Indesign.
• Experience building display ads for newspaper publishers.
• Experience using Slack 
• Being a builder - likes building and creating processes and structure

A quiet confidence switching gears between the fast-paced articulation of problems to be solved to finicky rote work involved in the execution will be helpful in this role (all while developing process automation to decrease the rote part of the role!).

• One month full time contract with possible extension to full time permanent role.  
• $25 per hour
