The Role: 

The Forge Legal Team is looking for an experienced paralegal to support the team’s litigation and commercial teams. This position reports to the General Counsel, Product & Commercial. 

This role is open to remote work in: San Francisco, Chicago; or New York City.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary internal point-of-contact for the collection, review, and production of documents in response to subpoenas, warrants, and other document requests from state and federal regulators, industry self-regulating organizations, and others
  • Correspond with government agencies, including law enforcement, regulators, and external counsel
  • Assist with the management of Forge’s litigation and arbitration matters, including scheduling and docketing, review of filings, preparation for trial, and correspondence with outside counsel and law enforcement and regulatory agencies
  • Support Forge’s internal legal operations function, including contract and document management platforms
  • Perform initial review of vendor agreements and support Forge’s vendor management process
  • Aid with data privacy, information security, labor, employment and people team (HR) matters as they arise
  • Support the legal team’s innovation to provide better and more efficient legal services to Forge’s diverse business units

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience as a litigation paralegal familiar in a law firm with a multi-jurisdictional practice
  • Strong experience in the collection, review, and production of documents in response to subpoenas, warrants, and private litigation
  • Familiarity with government agencies and law enforcement
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Support for commercial, general corporate, or employment legal departments and prior in-house experience a plus
  • Possess an understanding of contract management platforms and legal billing software (e.g. Legal Tracker)
  • Have prior involvement drafting, revising and formatting contracts and other corporate documents
  • Be proactive, efficient, a self-starter, responsive, willing, and able to function autonomously
  • Desire to work collaboratively with and learn from internal and external attorneys, other paralegals and internal clients
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency with project management systems (i.e. Jira and Asana), and Salesforce also a plus
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time in an office setting or in home office setting while working
