Job Description

Part-Time Editorial Assistant
The part-time editorial assistant plays a critical role in AllCampus's ability to produce consistent, high-quality content. By helping to maintain our editorial resources, the editorial assistant can effectively shift between proofreading, performing quality assurance (QA) tasks and implementing updates to live web assets for AllCampus and its suite of university partners.
The editorial assistant has a keen eye for detail and a passion for working with language. The ideal candidate is a natural problem-solver and prioritization expert who is excited by the opportunity to work across content, design and marketing strategy teams to ensure our content is up-to-date and relevant to prospective students seeking higher education opportunities. They understand that written work is never completely finished, and they are comfortable providing critical, detailed feedback to support writers, editors and strategists in developing the highest quality content possible.
The part-time editorial assistant will be expected to work 20 hours a week, Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities
  • Implement regular and ad hoc updates to AllCampus partner assets in collaboration with the design, marketing and operations teams
  • Conduct and implement audits of published material to ensure adherence to university style guides
  • Perform weekly editorial quality assurance checks of remarketing emails to ensure they are delivered without error
  • Assist the senior marketing content editor with editorial quality assurance tasks for new program launches
  • Proofread content for AllCampus communications and partner assets
  • Assist the senior marketing content editor in updating and maintaining the AllCampus editorial style guide as well as an extensive portfolio of partner-specific editorial style guides
  • Support the senior marketing content editor and content director in reviewing written work and providing feedback to the content team
  • Fact check content as needed to ensure that information is presented accurately and appropriately sourced
  • Take on other assignments as needed

Experience & Requirements
  • Experience in a creative or marketing role
  • Familiarity with AP Style and Chicago Manual of Style
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Innate curiosity and a consistent willingness to learn
  • Ability to balance and prioritize workload and to make decisions independently
  • Demonstrated proficiency of track changes and reviewing capabilities in MS Office and Google Suite a must
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Fact-checking experience preferred
  • Experience with basic HTML strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of WordPress preferred
