Summary
A new exciting unit is coming to HealthPark Medical Center!
The Women’s Perinatal Oversight Department (POD) is a 24/7 unit staffed by Critical Care RNs with at least 5 years of Labor & Delivery experience and are certified in external fetal monitoring. The POD will provide ongoing observation of all fetal heart rate tracings and maternal vital signs for all obstetric patients in Lee Health facilities. This will be accomplished by utilizing the PeriWatch Vigilance software, along with Epic and Perigen from a central location in the HealthPark Medical Center.This is not a remote nursing opportunity.
The purpose of this additional support is to provide an additional layer of patient observation, in conjunction with the bedside staff and providers, to identify potentially worsening situations and decrease the risk of poor outcomes for mom and/or baby.
CURRENTLY SEEKING FULL TIME, PART TIME & PRN positions with 3 shift options.
Must have applicable experience and fetal monitoring certification
Job Description
Responsible for the safe delivery and documentation of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Perform responsibilities in five areas of nursing practice utilizing critical thinking, management, problem solving and differentiation of urgency in the role of: clinician, teacher, researcher, leadership and professional development. Responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards subscribed to by American Nursing Association and in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act and other regulatory standards. Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Support the organization’s vision and mission. Use knowledge of patient's age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Contribute to the provision of quality nursing care through excellence in customer service and performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care. The nurse practice is guided by the code of ethics for nurses with interpretative statements.
Requirements
• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required. Associates or Bachelors preferred.
• Experience required. Qualified individuals will successfully complete the competency assessment. Experience requirements may vary by department. Please reference the Nursing Addendums for department specific requirements.
• Proof of American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), current for a minimum of 90 days after hire date. For units that require American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), current for a minimum of 90 days after hire date. Certification requirements may vary by department. Please reference the Nursing Addendums for department specific requirements.
• Currently licensed in the state of Florida
• Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, and customer service skills required. Certification in specialty area preferred.
