Pessoa Tech Lead Backend Java

As a Tech Lead Backend Java, you will be responsible for guiding technical decisions, supporting engineering excellence, and ensuring the delivery of robust backend solutions for complex and scalable environments.

• Lead the technical direction of a backend squad, defining architecture, development standards, and engineering best practices.
• Design, develop, and maintain critical backend systems using Java and Spring Boot.
• Make architectural decisions based on performance, scalability, security, and long-term maintainability.
• Conduct code reviews, establish coding guidelines, and promote high-quality development practices.
• Design and maintain complex CI/CD pipelines across distributed systems and multiple environments.
• Work with cloud infrastructure, containers, and orchestration platforms to support reliable deployments.
• Define and implement security practices, authentication flows, monitoring strategies, and observability standards.
• Analyze technical trade-offs involving algorithms, data structures, and system performance.
• Encourage the adoption of AI-powered development tools to improve productivity and software quality.
• Mentor developers, share knowledge, and contribute to the technical growth of the team.

Requirements:

We are looking for a senior backend professional with strong technical expertise, leadership experience, and the ability to make autonomous decisions in complex engineering scenarios.

• Advanced experience with Java and Spring Boot development.
• Strong experience working with PostgreSQL and relational databases.
• Proven experience designing and operating backend integrations, including APIs, messaging systems, event-driven architectures, automation, and asynchronous processing.
• Solid knowledge of distributed systems architecture, scalability, resilience, and performance optimization.
• Experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes/EKS orchestration.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as ECS, RDS, ALB/NLB, S3, Lambda, or Bedrock.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, OAuth2 authentication, and Kafka-based messaging.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code practices, especially Terraform.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools such as Grafana.
• Ability to mentor engineers, conduct technical reviews, and provide architectural guidance.
• English proficiency sufficient for reading technical documentation.

Nice-to-have qualifications:

• Experience with canary deployments or blue-green release strategies.
• Background working with machine learning projects or backend automation solutions.
• Experience automating tests for complex CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of advanced observability solutions such as Prometheus or New Relic.
• Experience integrating or customizing generative AI solutions into software development workflows.
