Job Description

Team: Human Resources

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Principal Consultant, Workday Payroll in the United States.

This role sits at the intersection of Workday expertise and strategic client advisory, focusing on delivering end-to-end payroll solutions that create measurable business impact. You will work closely with clients to translate complex payroll and business requirements into scalable Workday configurations. Operating in a fast-paced consulting environment, you will lead critical phases of implementation, from design workshops through deployment. The role blends hands-on technical configuration with high-level advisory responsibilities, requiring both depth in Workday Payroll and the ability to guide stakeholders effectively. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions are not only technically sound but also aligned with long-term operational goals. This is an opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects while growing within a culture centered on collaboration, expertise, and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities:

  • Partner with clients to assess payroll and business requirements and translate them into scalable Workday solutions.
  • Lead and support the configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday Payroll functionality across multiple project phases.
  • Facilitate design sessions and requirements workshops, converting complex needs into clear implementation plans.
  • Deliver consulting expertise across projects of varying size and complexity, ensuring timely and value-driven outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal and client teams to ensure alignment, knowledge sharing, and successful solution delivery.
  • Apply a problem-solving mindset to simplify processes and optimize payroll solutions for long-term efficiency.
  • Requirements:

    • Proven hands-on experience configuring and supporting Workday Payroll in a consulting or internal practitioner role.
    • Strong understanding of payroll operations, with the ability to translate business needs into Workday solutions.
    • Experience working in fast-paced environments managing multiple priorities and delivering against project milestones.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on clarity, structure, and execution.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in team-oriented environments.
    • U.S. work authorization is required; candidates must be based in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
    • Additional experience in Workday HCM, PECI integrations, global payroll, or payroll accounting is considered a strong advantage.
    • Exposure to Finance collaboration, M&A integrations, or organizational restructuring is a plus.
    • Benefits:

      • Flexible remote work environment supporting work-life balance.
      • Competitive salary range of $120,000–$170,000, plus potential annual discretionary bonus.
      • Comprehensive healthcare coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
      • 401(k) retirement plan with employer contributions.
      • Generous paid time off and company holidays.
      • Parental leave supporting family and personal needs.
      • Life and disability insurance for financial security and peace of mind.
      • Inclusive and collaborative culture focused on professional growth and shared success.
