Lead architecture and design for Identity teams in India. Create target state architecture, bring in new technologies, review design and ensure it confirms to Identity target state and PayPal standards, mentor senior engineers.

Identity Platform is part of common platform group which manages functions such as creation of identity, management of identity, authentication of credentials, primary and secondary authentication across all the adjacencies of PayPal such as Venmo, Xoom and Braintree. Identity team has footprint in North America and India and a significant portion of engineering and product team work from India.

Director, Architecture will provide the technical leadership primarily but not limited to Identity engineering teams in India, participate in Enterprise Architecture Council, provide inputs from Identity perspective, set technical guidelines and create target state architecture, review design and will mentor senior engineers. The deliverables will be architecture design documents, proof of concepts, architecture decisions and justifications.

Education & Experience required: 

• Bachelors of engineering Computer science degree or related fields. Masters degree is preferred.
• 15+ years of engineering experience in high traffic, Agile environments, building large scale. high performance and secure systems
• Essential experience in managing multiple small/medium workstreams in parallel.   
• Identity experience is a plus. At the minimum a good knowledge of Identity management systems is required.
• Hands on coding experience is required.  
• Familiarity with Infosec concepts and security protocols is required.
• Familiarity with cloud architecture is a plus.

• Core Technology Engineering teams in Product and Engineering orgs 
• Partnering with teams such as Checkout, Merchant and Payments
• Security and Infosec teams
