How you'll add value:
- Prepare, validate, improve, and reengineer functions / processesÂ
- Drive change and improvements within a groupÂ
- Balance conflicting business and technical requirements and establish partnerships with customers Â
- Expert in a given domain and/or technologyÂ
- Produce well thought-out architecture with scale, performance, security, and availability considerationsÂ
- Capable of doing full stack in multiple technologiesÂ
- Develop high quality code adhering to the best coding practices as laid down by the companyÂ
- Work closely with the architecture team and help translate existing requirements into robust, scalable software applicationsÂ
- Implement regular code review Â
- Ensure release management processes are followedÂ
- Be a mentor on best practices, provide implementation oversight and guidance to ensure consistency and quality of designÂ
- Analyze and document existing systems, review pre-existing code and provide recommendations to improve performance and maintainabilityÂ
- Keep abreast of latest trends to help provide recommendations on new technologies and processes that can help improve the organizationÂ
- Understand the Product Teams expectations and manage them with the Development TeamÂ
- Work closely with team leaders to ensure structured and coordinated planning of your team’s developmentÂ
- Be the support system of the Architecture Team, capable of understanding and contributing to the technical solution from design to implementation Â
- Ensure compliance to established design patternsÂ
- Know when to escalate a critical decisionÂ
What you'll need to be successful in this role:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or 2+ years of equivalent experienceÂ
- In addition to 9+ years in an engineering position creating code-based solutions and toolsÂ
- Expert in JavaÂ
- Experience with Java frameworks including Spring Boot, JPA, JMSÂ
- Expert with SQL databasesÂ
- Experience with PostgreSQLÂ
- Expert with enterprise softwareÂ
- Expert with cloud computingÂ
- Experience with AWSÂ
- Expert in working with APIsÂ
- Expert in distributed version-control systems i.e. GitÂ
- Expert in troubleshooting and diagnosing issuesÂ
- Expert in Agile development conceptsÂ
- Experience with client-side frameworks and technologies i.e. React, Angular and TypescriptÂ
- Experience engineering payroll or workforce systems a huge plus, particularly in the labor and tax compliance domains
- Occasional travel required

- This position has a salary range of $132,000-$198,000. The above range represents the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic location.
