The opportunityWe are hiring a Product Data Analyst to partner with our product team, with some work in go-to-market and finance. You'll gather, clean, and analyze data with a focus on helping ngrok deepen our understanding of user engagement and journeys as well as how it relates to long term usage retention and revenue recognition.
This is ngrok’s first data hire, and has a lot of potential for mobility and ownership managing how our data is piped, stored, and analyzed programatically. This is a great job for someone who is ambitious and can proactively think through what leaders would need in a product-led environment. We are looking for someone who is intellectually curious, has a data-driven mindset, and is able to mix business knowledge with statistical tools and research techniques to generate actionable qualitative and quantitative insights.
In this role you'll get to:
- Measure, analyze, and understand the data of the entire user lifecycle from discovery, engagement, retention, and churn.
- Leverage diverse user and product data to quantify the impact of product interactions and drive actionable recommendations for improvements.
- Communicate findings to technical, non-technical, and executive audiences
- Work collaboratively in a startup environment with a high-performance team
Within 30 days
- Provide deeper cuts into company-wide KPIs, providing the team with target segments to solve for from a product perspective.
- Help us establish differentiation between our product-led and sales-led models in our revenue reporting.
Within 6 months
- Create company-wide dashboards, weekly reports for the executive team, and create standardized views of our data that all teammates can self-serve.
Within 1 year
- Inform our investment in a data stack.
- You’ve created process around the data team: requests, versioning, and more.
- You’ve impacted significant change within the organization: from prioritization of features and campaigns, to understanding the impacts of product changes across the user lifecycle.
- 4+ years of experience in an analytical role at a SaaS business, preferably product-led
- Experience cleaning, wrangling, aggregating data from disparate sources, and setting up the measurement of A/B tests
- Extensive experience in SQL required, Python preferred
- Strong storytelling skills
- Self-starting, fast-moving, and collaborative approach to problem solving
- You’re not loyal to BI tools, you’ve used a few and what matters most to you is speed to insights for the team
- Bonus Points:
- able to create compelling and concise presentations that convey actionable solutions to complex problems, or desire to learn to be more executive-facing

BenefitsCompensation for this role depends on level, but we provide a competitive mix of salary and equity.
We provide a 401(k) with a 100% match up to 3% of your salary and a 50% match up to another 2%.
We provide healthcare, dental, and vision with premiums fully covered on the base plan for employees. Half of premiums are covered for dependents. We also include long term disability, short term disability, and a term life policy at no cost to employees.
