Job Description

It’s an exciting time at Crossbeam. Less than four years post-launch, we have over nine thousand companies using our platform, raised more than $100M of venture capital from leading VC firms, and are working with awesome strategic investors like Salesforce, HubSpot, Okta, and Slack. Best of all, we’re just getting started. In a market full of uncertainty, we are fortunate to have an unwavering long-term vision and the funding to see it through at full speed.

Crossbeam helps companies partner with each other in a more data-driven way by acting as an escrow service for data. Our platform allows companies to find overlapping customers and prospects with their partners while keeping the rest of their data private and secure.

The Product Design team is growing at Crossbeam. In 2022, we are leveling up our design efforts and want someone who is excited about making an impact on a growing team. Our main priorities will be making Crossbeam incredibly easy to use, upgrading our design system, and further defining our look and feel.

As a product designer at Crossbeam, you’ll work closely with our product and product design teams to further the experience and capabilities of Crossbeam. We’re excited to bring on a third designer to help hone our user experience and dial in the brainstorming and user research portion of the product design process.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • UX Thinking. Focus on the entire journey through Crossbeam and get to the “why” behind our customers’ needs. You want to give our users the simplest path to their goal, and you value the user’s experience above all else.
  • Designing thoughtfully. Design features from concept to release, always advocating for the customer and using your knowledge to continually improve our product.
  • Collaborating across departments. Partner closely with customer-facing team members to validate customer requests and proposed solutions. Be discerning about differentiating the “what” from the “why”. Work with product and engineering teams during the development cycle all the way through release.
  • Leveling up our product (design). As an early Product Designer, you will contribute heavily to our look and feel, but also focus on making Crossbeam easy to use. We want to be the best UI around, and you are excited about furthering that goal.
  • Gathering feedback. Proactively seek feedback from stakeholders, customers, and data from our internal analytics. Be able to parse out the important pieces and aggregate them into an actionable plan.
  • Getting to know our customers. You may not be a partnership professional, but you are able to think like one. You are interested in getting to know our customer base, understanding their pain points, and collaborating with them on new features.

THESE ARE SOME OF YOUR TRAITS:

  • You have 3+ years of experience in product design at a B2B SaaS company
  • You are a thinker and a doer, allowing you to contribute ideas in discovery stages but also get your hands dirty and deliver with great efficiency when it comes to implementing those ideas.
  • You are passionate about the “why” behind user actions and requests. You are empathetic about our user’s needs and are able to frame their requests in the context of their goals.
  • You are equally meticulous about the journey a user takes to achieve their goals and get the value of a product.
  • You have experience closely collaborating with product teams and can create value from the very beginning in the product ideation process.
  • You have experience working directly with engineers to nail down the details of how your designs will be implemented and understand that modifications may be needed based on technical feasibility.
  • Your collaboration and project management skills are well-honed, allowing you to work on multiple parallel projects alongside a diverse set of stakeholders.
  • You understand our philosophy of product-led growth (PLG) and believe that product design is a key input to the growth and go-to-market success for a SaaS company.
  • You love talking to customers and are excited and proactive about validating ideas, approaches, and designs with them.
  • You are well versed in the tools of the trade and specifically have familiarity with Figma. (Sketch is cool too!)
  • You understand the importance of organization & documentation (bonus points if you’ve used Notion in the past for this).
  • You speak your mind and have no issue raising concerns with colleagues, but are also able to “disagree and commit” when things don’t go your way.
  • You just read this whole list and got more excited than concerned.
