As a member of the platform team, the product owner partners closely with the product managers of assigned products to document prioritized requirements for development, make critical decisions on development priorities to drive product value, and is the representative of the product manager to the development team. The product owner also serves as the leader of scrum team.

What you will be doing
  • Work with cross-functional teams & stakeholders; Product Management, Sales and Engineering teams.
  • Turn data insights into products with actionable outcomes for the target customer.
  • Work in an Agile environment and continuously review the business needs, refine priorities, outline milestones and deliverables, and identify opportunities and risks
  • Translate product roadmap features into well-defined product requirements including functionality, user stories, and acceptance test criteria.
  • Prioritize & maintain the sprint backlog for assigned products, balancing stakeholder requirements.
  • Lead the product functional design process based on an intimate knowledge of the users and technology
  • Develop & maintain appropriate tracking/reporting of product performance to evaluate future investments.


What you need
  • Bachelor's degree of higher
  • Knowledge of or experience working in Academic Library marketplace, higher education publishing, and/or education technology or 2 years working in an Agile or Scrum development market, ideally as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst or Technical Product Management
  • Strong technical background balanced with a business mindset and customer first philosophy
  • Proactive, self-starter with excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills are a must, including the ability to absorb and process large amounts of data into actionable information.


It would be great if you had
  • Experience using CRM tools such as JIRA and or Confluence
  • Experience with best practice agile scrum development and lean startup principles
  • Project Management or Business Analyst certification.
  • Familiarity working with analytics to guide product & UI development, such as Google Analytics or Pendo.
  • Familiarity with Silicon Valley Product Group or Agile product development methods and strategies.
