This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Project Manager (IT) - Senior in Canada.
This role involves leading and coordinating multiple high-priority IT initiatives within a complex public-sector environment. You will oversee end-to-end delivery of concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with governance standards, timelines, and operational objectives. Acting as a central coordination point between vendors, internal IT teams, and business stakeholders, you will drive execution across service desk modernization, digital workplace initiatives, and infrastructure optimization efforts. The position requires strong multitasking capabilities and the ability to manage competing priorities in a structured yet fast-evolving environment. You will also contribute to strategic reporting, executive communication, and decision-support activities that guide program direction. This is a highly visible role where strong leadership, communication, and delivery discipline directly impact service efficiency and cost optimization outcomes.
Accountabilities:
- Lead and manage multiple concurrent IT projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring scope, timelines, and objectives are achieved.
- Develop project charters, business cases, and detailed project plans aligned with enterprise standards and governance frameworks.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure effective execution and delivery of project milestones.
- Oversee scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, issue tracking, and escalation processes across all assigned initiatives.
- Support service desk automation enhancements, boardroom-as-a-service expansion, and AVD usage optimization initiatives.
- Facilitate procurement activities, vendor onboarding, and contract coordination where applicable.
- Prepare executive-level reporting, dashboards, and status updates for senior leadership and steering committees.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, policies, and IT standards while documenting business and technical requirements.
- Identify dependencies, risks, and policy implications, providing recommendations and mitigation strategies.
- Support transition planning and change management activities to enable smooth operational handover.
- Collaborate with sponsors and PMO to ensure project governance compliance and delivery consistency.
- Evaluate project outcomes and contribute insights for continuous improvement and future delivery optimization.
- 7+ years of experience in IT project management or program delivery roles within complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects with strong governance and delivery discipline.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, planning tools, and enterprise IT delivery frameworks.
- Experience working with vendors, procurement processes, and cross-functional IT/business teams.
- Ability to develop detailed project documentation including charters, plans, requirements, and executive reports.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior leadership and technical teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and risk management capabilities.
- Experience in public sector or large enterprise environments is an asset.
- Familiarity with service desk transformation, digital workplace tools, or infrastructure optimization initiatives is an advantage.
- Ability to work remotely within Canada with occasional travel when required.
