What You’ll Do
The Project Specialist will serve as a critical member of the Foundation’s growing portfolio of environmental equity and climate action programs housed within the Community Impact department. As a member of the program team, the Project Specialist will provide operational support for environmental equity program activities, including engagement with community-based organizations, facilitating focus groups and community-based participatory research, providing student training and support, designing and implementing awareness campaigns for climate-related issues, designing and implemented climate-related consumer assistance programs, building and maintaining diverse coalitions of stakeholders, convening diverse groups of stakeholders, and liaising with key partners, such as CBOs, philanthropic funders, and governmental agencies.
Under the direction of the Program Manager, Environmental Equity, and in line with the Foundation’s strategic plan, the Project Specialist’s primary role is to support the smooth and efficient operations of several projects related to environmental equity.
The Project Specialist will be an internal expert and consultant concerning environmental equity and justice topics, particularly regarding community and stakeholder engagement, coalition building, project implementation, and upholding the principles of a just transition framework. Additional experience with the following is preferred: program design and evaluation, quantitative data analysis, qualitative data analysis, familiarity with clean energy and/or mobility technologies, and engagement with governmental agencies at the local, regional, state, and/or federal levels. This person will apply community organizing and campaign skills to build consensus amongst a diverse group of stakeholders on issues related to community benefits and climate action technology.

Identifies, establishes and cultivates cooperative relationships with community-based programs, organizations, and community leaders, with a special focus on historically underrepresented groups to strategically execute outreach initiatives and provide engagement opportunities for diverse voices from impacted communities.

Researches, writes, edits, and produces content for multiple platforms, including grants, fact sheets, articles, annual reports, proposals, presentations, and websites.

Improves program procedures and outcomes by implementing efficiencies, collecting, and analyzing data, and identifying new sources of program resources.

Operate an automobile and possess a current valid California Driver License with proof of insurance or have access to reliable transportation in order to conduct Foundation business.

Budgeted Annual Salary Pay Range:
$70,000.00 - $75,000.00
Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.
