In this role, you will lead the end-to-end proposal and contract development process within a fast-paced clinical research environment supporting global pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and external vendors to develop strategic, high-quality proposals, budgets, and bid responses that align with client requirements and business objectives. This position combines project coordination, proposal writing, budget development, and stakeholder management within a highly collaborative and customer-focused setting. You will play a critical role in driving business growth by ensuring timely, accurate, and competitive submissions for complex clinical research opportunities. Ideal candidates are highly organized, analytical, and skilled at managing multiple priorities while delivering exceptional written communication and client engagement. Accountabilities:
- Lead and manage the full proposal lifecycle from RFI/RFP intake through proposal delivery, contract support, and project handover activities.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, functional leaders, and external vendors to develop customized proposal strategies, budgets, and client solutions.
- Analyze clinical study protocols and client requirements to identify project scope, operational needs, risks, and pricing considerations.
- Develop, edit, and review high-quality proposal documents, bid grids, budgets, cover letters, and client-facing materials.
- Ensure proposal content, assumptions, timelines, and budget details are accurate, consistent, and aligned with client expectations.
- Manage proposal timelines, milestones, and submission schedules while proactively identifying and mitigating risks to delivery.
- Support bid defense preparation activities including meeting coordination, presentation planning, and strategic messaging development.
- Assist with contract generation, change orders, and collaboration with project delivery teams to support successful study transitions.
- Maintain proposal tracking systems, metrics reporting, proposal libraries, and standardized documentation processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, vendor relationship development, and enhancement of proposal management capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, business, or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in proposal development, clinical research budgeting, or contract management within a CRO or clinical research environment.
- Strong understanding of clinical trial services, budgeting methodologies, and key cost drivers across clinical development projects.
- Experience reviewing clinical study protocols and translating complex project requirements into strategic proposals and pricing models.
- Excellent written communication, editing, and proposal writing skills with strong attention to detail and formatting consistency.
- Proven ability to manage multiple proposal deadlines and deliver high-quality work within fast-paced and deadline-driven environments.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, clients, and third-party vendors in a customer-focused environment.
- Ability to support bid defense preparation and develop strategic presentations and client-facing materials.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to recommend pricing strategies and proposal approaches aligned with business objectives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and proposal tracking or project management systems.
- Competitive salary range of approximately CAD $95,000 to $130,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
