Role OverviewÂ
Eduventures, a division of Encoura, is seeking a Quantitative Research Analyst to play an important role serving executives at universities and at the growing number of vendor companies that serve the higher education market. This is an exciting opportunity for an entry- to mid-level professional with strong quantitative skills seeking to apply and broaden their experience at fast-paced, professional research and advising organization. The successful Quantitative Research Analyst will design and execute surveys and survey data analysis, and other quantitative studies for clients in areas including enrollment management, retention and student success. This role provides an exciting opportunity to develop and apply research that serves both the broader higher education market as well as the needs of individual clients.Â
A day in the life of a Quantitative Research Analyst
- Apply appropriate analytical methodologies and instruments to research projectsÂ
- Clean and analyze results and report on project findingsÂ
- Create customized and presentation-quality reports from data analysis results. This includes presenting summary tables and figures to clients and other analystsÂ
- Effectively contribute to team projectsÂ
- Support effective knowledge managementÂ
Role Progression
- Within 1 month, you will understand what makes Encoura an amazing organization. You will complete the onboarding process, meet with quantitative research, research, and marketing teams, and learn how your role interacts with other team members across the organization. You will begin to familiarize yourself with Qualtrics as well asSPSS, R, and SQL, our data analysis tools.Â
- Within 3 months, you will have programmed and launched one or more surveys, monitored the progress, and begun working with the survey data. You will be partnering with a subject matter expert (SME) in Research to understand their needs and guide you as you start to analyze the survey data.Â
- Within 6 months, you will have started work on one of the major traditional student or adult-focused surveys completed each year. These surveys are the cornerstone for our research efforts, and the results are frequently the core of our published research. You will have started to use code for data cleaning and preparation for our internal use and for client presentation in Encoura Data Lab.Â
- Within 1 year, in addition to your continuing survey research, you will be working with IPEDS and Lightcast – two sources of higher education and labor market data to inform your survey research or as part of other quantitative research. You will be working on other quantitative projects such as Program Strength Assessment (PSA) or Student Success Ratings.Â
About You
- Bachelor’s degree requiredÂ
- 1-3 years of professional research/analytical experience, preferably in higher education or education marketÂ
- Experience in traditional market research techniques and methodologiesÂ
- Competency with statistical program packages such as SPSS or RÂ
- Competency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointÂ
- Project management skillsÂ
- Ability to define inquiries and problem-solveÂ
- Experience with survey instrument developmentÂ
- Familiarity with survey platforms (ideally Qualtrics)Â
- Ability to analyze research results (frequencies, multi-variate techniques, cross-tabs, etc.)Â
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau experience a plus)Â
- Ability to learn advanced techniques such as conjoint, latent class modeling, MaxDiffÂ
- Ability to transform key data into clear graphics as well as compelling written findings and actionable recommendationsÂ
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a teamÂ
- Superior attention to detail and exceptional organizational skillsÂ
- Strong written and verbal communication skillsÂ
