Team: Business Development

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Regional Business Director, Diabetes based in United States.

This leadership role is responsible for guiding and developing a high-performing regional sales team focused on delivering strong commercial outcomes in a specialized healthcare market.
You will oversee field execution, sales strategy implementation, and team performance across a defined territory within the diabetes space.
The position combines people leadership with strategic sales direction, ensuring alignment between regional execution and broader organizational goals.
You will play a key role in recruiting, coaching, and retaining top sales talent while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
A major part of the role involves driving performance through data-driven insights, field engagement, and consistent coaching in the field.
You will also collaborate closely with cross-functional partners and key healthcare stakeholders to strengthen market presence and patient outcomes.
This role is ideal for a dynamic sales leader who thrives in complex, fast-moving healthcare environments.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a regional team of sales professionals to achieve and exceed commercial performance objectives.
  • Recruit, hire, and retain top talent while building a strong, performance-driven and collaborative team culture.
  • Conduct regular field visits, business reviews, and coaching sessions to improve execution and sales effectiveness.
  • Monitor performance metrics and market insights to guide strategy, accountability, and territory optimization.
  • Drive alignment and communication of organizational priorities through effective team leadership and sales meetings.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure coordinated execution of regional strategies and initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key healthcare stakeholders, including physicians and opinion leaders.
  • Provide ongoing feedback, mentorship, and performance management to support individual and team growth.
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
    • 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, diagnostics, or life sciences commercial roles.
    • 2–5+ years of experience in sales leadership, preferably managing field-based teams.
    • Strong experience in specialty markets such as diabetes, rescue markets, or complex healthcare selling environments.
    • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing sales teams.
    • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze performance metrics and drive results.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with a strong customer engagement focus.
    • Ability to work in a highly field-based role with up to 75% travel and occasional evening/weekend work.
