What You'll Be Doing in the role of Solutions Architect
Susan G. Komen is looking for a hands-on Solutions Architect to join its Engineering team in building the Komen Health Cloud and other innovative Komen Mission products. The right individual will be a proactive, self-starter who brings critical day-to-day leadership and thinking to the table and thrives in connecting people and technology to solve complex problems at-scale. The candidate will analyze, model, and develop complex and high-level architecture plans that require the integration of multiple technologies and coordination of functional areas across the organization. The candidate will be required to collaborate with partners, internal teams and business leaders alike to create strategically sound target state architecture & solutioning documents with emphasis on organization-wide reuse and convergence.
The Solutions Architect's work will have tremendous and long-term positive impact in the Komen Mission group and across Komen in partnership with some of the leading technology vendors.
What You Will Bring to the Table
Collaborate with Business, Product and Technology teams to create architectural & design documents that translate requirements into secure, scalable, and reliable solutions.
Lead the creation of innovative solutions by leveraging Azure & Salesforce cloud platforms. Ensure solutions align w/ the architectural vision & addresses key business problems.
Design solutions for functional and non-functional qualities, including availability, resiliency, security, privacy, etc. Ensure solutions adhere to industry, regulatory, and security standards and practices.
Evangelize & implement Azure Cloud and lead the effort of building cloud-native solutions & migrate legacy applications to Azure Cloud.
Create data pipelines - ingestion, transformation, cleansing, storage and transfer using Azure Cloud.
Configure and set up the Cloud infrastructure and implement tools that are needed to run robust Dev Ops. Automate infrastructure provisioning and scaling.
Review, advise, and provide feedback on architecture and solutioning documents produced within and outside the team.
Review and conduct technical research, testing, evaluation and documentation of complex hosting/configuration tools and methodologies to ensure that tools are current and functional.
Define and approve application standards & specifications and ensure solutions adhere to these standards.
Learn and adopt new tools and techniques to increase performance, automation, and scalability.
Work within the engineering team to realize architectural goals and with peers to ensure the consistent architecture is maintained across the enterprise.
Share the leading practices and cloud emerging technologies with internal team members.
We Already Know You Will Also Have
10+ Years' experience in building highly scalable, enterprise grade applications.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent.
5+ years' experience in architecting & building cloud-native, scalable, and fault-tolerant enterprise-grade applications in Azure.
Hands-on experience working with modern web technologies with front-end frameworks like Angular/React.
Strong working knowledge of container technologies including Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift.
Experience in modern UI, microservices, API, mobile app, data solutions, big data technologies, application development frameworks, patterns, and tools
Experience in the Healthcare domain, including strong working knowledge of FHIR is preferred.
Experience addressing operational and non-functional concerns (e.g. horizontal & vertical scalability, performance, maintainability, load distribution, resilience, recovery, security and privacy).
Experience with Cloud Native (12-Factor) Architecture and Infrastructure Patterns.
Strong working experience in migrating legacy applications to Azure & building Azure cloud-native solutions.
Strong knowledge of CI/CD, DevSecOps and Automation.
Good understanding of cloud PaaS services like security, monitoring, logging, scaling, caching, etc.
Experience coaching a team of developers to help them deploy cloud infrastructure is preferred.
Experience in application migration from on-premise to the cloud using rearchitecting and re-platforming approach is a plus.
Experience in an Agile software development is preferred.
Experience with BI and Analytics tools, data warehousing and data repositories, cloud based analytical platforms, search and text Analytics.
Strong presentation and communication skills and expertise interfacing and communicating effectively with both engineers and executives.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for design, coordination and testing of applications.
Leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Good judgment and the ability to handle high pressure situations.
