Job description

Team: IT

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Render Engineering Team Lead based in the United States.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced rendering engineer to shape the core systems powering real-time media and video experiences across a suite of performance-driven products. In this role, you will lead a small but highly skilled engineering team while remaining deeply hands-on in designing and optimizing rendering and media processing systems. Your work will directly influence system performance, visual quality, and end-user experience at scale. You will drive technical strategy across rendering pipelines, low-latency streaming, and multimedia processing while mentoring engineers and fostering a high-performance culture. This role is ideal for someone passionate about graphics, video technologies, and building efficient, scalable systems in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Accountabilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of render engineers, setting technical direction, aligning priorities, and ensuring high-quality execution across projects.
  • Design, develop, and optimize core rendering systems, video processing pipelines, and real-time media infrastructure.
  • Remain hands-on with critical technical work, including performance optimization, system design, and code reviews for high-impact components.
  • Define and drive technical strategy for rendering architecture, multimedia pipelines, and platform performance across products.
  • Own people management responsibilities including 1:1s, coaching, career development, performance reviews, and team growth planning.
  • Partner cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to balance roadmap delivery with long-term scalability and technical health.
  • Build a strong engineering culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Requirements

    • Extensive experience in software engineering with a strong focus on rendering systems, graphics, or real-time media processing.
    • Strong proficiency in C++ with deep understanding of performance-critical systems and low-level optimization.
    • Hands-on experience with multi-threaded rendering systems and optimization of complex, high-performance architectures.
    • Strong knowledge of graphics APIs such as OpenGL, Metal, or DirectX, with the ability to guide others in their effective use.
    • Experience working with video streaming technologies and optimizing low-latency media pipelines.
    • Solid understanding of system performance analysis, debugging bottlenecks, and hardware-aware optimization techniques.
    • Proven leadership or engineering management experience, including mentoring engineers and driving team performance.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to make clear trade-offs and guide technical decisions in fast-moving environments.
    • Passion for building scalable, efficient systems and developing high-performing engineering teams.
    • Benefits

      • Competitive base salary aligned with experience and leadership level.
      • Equity participation in a high-growth product organization.
      • Fully remote work flexibility.
      • Opportunity to lead and shape a core engineering team working on cutting-edge rendering and media systems.
      • Access to complex technical challenges in real-time graphics, video processing, and performance optimization.
      • Professional growth opportunities in both technical leadership and people management.
      • Collaborative engineering culture focused on innovation, ownership, and technical excellence.
