The role you'll play: 

The Research Associate at CE is responsible for researching and writing on key topics around the Consumer Staples industry, with a focus on company coverage initiation pieces, company/industry deep dives, and differentiated white papers.

Your main responsibilities: 

• Research and write on key topics around the Consumer Staples industry – with a focus on company coverage initiation pieces, company/industry deep dives, and differentiated white papers.
• Compile and interpret simple and complex company & industry data files from both traditional and alternative data sources.
• Manage on-going effort to centralize group’s data efforts to support company’s focus on delivering a highly differentiated client service model.
• Analyze both new and existing data sets through simple and multi-factor statistical models.
• Build and maintain Excel-based financial models, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and intrinsic value calculations.
• Over time, attend and report on analyst days, industry conferences, and company management presentations.

We’re looking for someone with: 

• Bachelor’s degree with proven history of academic and professional success, with 1-2 years of experience.
• Mastery of the English language, strong writing skills a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Statistical analysis or programming experience a plus.
• Financial / Economics Research, Investment Banking, Trading, or Consulting experience preferred.
• Knowledge / interest in economics, accounting, financial markets, statistics, forecasting, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
• Progress on CFA charter a plus.
