About the Team
Within Yahoo Research, the Knowledge Graph Science team develops the technologies and solutions behind the Yahoo Knowledge Graph and the various products built upon it across Yahoo. Our team's work has a direct impact on product quality and powers user experiences and services across Search, Media, Commerce, and Advertising.
Responsibilities
As a research intern in our team, you will apply and advance the state of the art in machine learning and artificial intelligence, and prototype novel solutions to problems related to structured data extraction, content understanding, graph mining, ontology alignment and normalization, entity reconciliation, semantic search, entity recommendation, and/or question answering.
Leveraging your scientific expertise, technical skills, and relevant data, you will:
- Identify, scope and formulate ill-defined problems
- Design metrics and experiments to analyze problems and measure results
- Review SOTA approaches, correlate them with the problems, and recommend solutions
- Prototype and evaluate solutions based on the agreed-upon goals, approach and metrics
- Generate intellectual property with patent applications and/or publications at relevant forums
- Work and communicate effectively with each partner to put research results into action
Requirements
- Pursuing aMaster or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field.
- Expertise in machine learning and experience in information extraction, natural language processing, knowledge graph, information retrieval or computer vision.
- Solid programming skills in languages such as Python, Scala, Java or similar.
- Experience with collaborative research, as evidenced through publications or projects.
- Strong communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.

If hired for this position in Colorado, the compensation range for this position is between $0.00 - $0.00. The compensation may vary depending on your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include additional incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, plus equity incentives.
