Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Residential Construction Manager working in Winnipeg and Gillam, Manitoba to lead and coordinate residential construction projects from inception to completion. In this pivotal role, you will oversee project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring projects meet quality standards, deadlines, and budget expectations. Your leadership will drive project success through effective management of resources, schedules, and teams while maintaining safety and compliance at all times. This term position will be approximately one year.
Duties
- Project Planning & Scheduling: Establishing timelines, milestones, and daily goals.
- Budgeting & Cost Control: Preparing, submitting, and managing construction project budgets.
- Site Supervision: Monitoring daily on-site activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and design specifications.
- Subcontractor & Resource Management: Hiring, scheduling, and supervising subcontractors, inspectors, and laborers.
- Quality Control & Compliance: Developing and implementing quality control programs and managing inspections.
- Client Communication: Providing regular progress reports to clients and stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Ability to demonstrate long-term work authorization without restrictions
- Resides in Winnipeg, Manitoba or surrounding area
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to the job site in Gilliam, Manitoba
- Significant, proven experience in residential construction and site supervision
- Leadership qualities, such as motivation techniques and conflict-management
- Computer literacy for spreadsheet and word processing software
- Time management skills, especially familiarity with calendar management and goal setting
- Familiarity with the work being done by each team member
- Knowledge of various project management methodologies
- Cost and risk management skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Ability to make important decisions under pressure
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to delegate effectively
- Friendly and approachable
- Own transportation is required
The ideal candidate will have experience with CMiC Software and Advanced Excel skills.
