Job Description
Human Interest is on a mission to ensure that people in all lines of work have access to retirement benefits. Nearly half of all working Americans are not saving enough for their future because they are employed by a company that doesn’t offer a retirement plan. Human Interest is changing that by making it affordable and accessible for small and medium sized businesses to offer employees a path to financial independence through retirement savings.
In this role, you will create, execute, and advise our company on strategies designed to promote the retention of our clients. You will bring creativity, an entrepreneurial spirit, and empathy to understanding client needs, negotiating solutions to meet those needs, and serving as the primary point of contact for the retention of key client relationships. Someone with a strong background in retirement services can thrive in this role, which will autonomously manage high-stakes discussions and major client interactions.
What you get to do every day
- Independently identify clients who should receive attention and focus as we aim to provide premier customer service.
- Without close supervision or a script, communicate as our main point of contact with knowledgeable retirement plan professionals and exercise good business judgment in the process of learning the needs of each client, partnering on plan-level issues that can have a significant impact on our company and plan participants, educating clients on the benefits of our services, and effectively resolving client concerns.
- Autonomously exercise broad latitude and discretion to negotiate and offer solutions that ensure clients receive exceptional service with the goal of having a significant financial and operational impact by retaining those clients, and in turn, helping those clients provide top-tier retirement-savings opportunities to plan participants.
- Become a stakeholder in our organization and leverage your retirement industry expertise by identifying client-service obstacles, formulating creative strategies for overcoming them, and participating in the implementation of those solutions so we can flourish as a leading provider of retirement plan services and accomplish our greater mission: to ensure people in all lines of work have access to retirement benefits.
What you bring to the role
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3-5 years of retirement industry experience with a focus on client retention.
- A proven track record of developing and executing client-retention strategies.
- The ability to work autonomously in critical communications with clients, and to collaborate as a team in crafting company strategies.
Please feel free to apply to this position even if you do not meet 100% of the requirements listed above.
