About this role
As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) you'll be joining an ambitious and growing International Sales team. You will be the first point of contact for our potential new clients and will play a critical role in Ably's growth by proactively identifying, engaging, and qualifying new opportunities.
You will prospect into both Inbound and Outbound accounts to understand their business problems, identify ways Ably's capabilities can help, and facilitate the development of their relationship with Ably.
You will develop and foster a wide range of technical, analytical, and sales skills. Our goal is to set you up for success as a SDR while providing opportunities for you to grow and advance your career at Ably.
Day to day, you will
  • Collaborate with Account Executive's to identify, research and engage with target accounts and key decision makers.
  • Work closely with the wider sales, marketing, customer success, support and partner teams to execute on strategies to build our sales pipeline.
  • Through calls, emails and social outreach, you'll prospect, educate, qualify and develop leads to create sales-ready opportunities.
  • Use tools like HubSpot, LinkedIn, Salesloft, Zoominfo (plus others) to research accounts, identify key contacts, and craft targeted messaging.
  • Be hungry to meet and exceed daily, monthly and quarterly metrics.
  • Participate in team huddles, one to one's, idea sharing and feedback sessions to continually improve our sales process.
  • Be curious and proactively learn our technology to effectively communicate our value proposition with a technical audience.

We'd love to hear from you if you have
  • Previous experience in outbound sales or sales development in the enterprise software space.
  • A bachelor degree or equivalent in business, marketing, computer science, or a related field.
  • The ability to be outgoing and empathetic, with strong communication skills and a passion for problem-solving and relationship-building.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems, prospecting tools and common office applications.
  • An understanding of sales qualification frameworks (e.g. MEDDICC).
  • Highly organized, with great time management skills and the ability to set, meet and exceed personal goals.

It would be nice, but not essential if you have
  • A passion for technologies that are relevant to Ably's mission, such as infrastructure or developer tooling
