SAS Programmer Analyst

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Function independently on mission-critical aspects of programs, possibly overseeing less senior staff and managing specific job assignments.
• Formulate and apply various modeling and optimization methods to assist in decision-making, policy formulation, and managerial functions.
• Gather data from diverse sources, analyze it using statistical techniques and tools, and interpret results to support management decisions.
• Develop decision support systems, services, or products to optimize operational efficiency concerning time, cost, or logistics.
• Create comprehensive, routine, and ad hoc reports to communicate data trends and analysis results, ensuring they meet management and regulatory needs.
• Conduct both trend analyses and exploratory studies on data to identify new potential indicators for investigation.
• Ensure the protection of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Protected Health Information (PHI).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 

• Over 4 years of experience with at least 2+ years using SAS for data querying and analysis.
• Proficiency in SQL and Base SAS for constructing queries and analyzing data.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, charting, and data tables.
• Familiarity with SAS programming, specifically for data manipulation and analysis.
• Strong capabilities in data manipulation, pattern recognition, and anomaly identification. Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems efficiently.
• Effective at conveying analysis results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Willing and quick to learn new information, with a proactive approach to understanding system frameworks, workflows, and data relationships.
• Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Candidates must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

• Background in FWA (Fraud, Waste, and Abuse) claims, investigations, and familiarity with the Affordable Care Act are highly preferable.
• Experience with Excel Macros is also preferred.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:

• BA/BS or MA/MS degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management, Economics, or related fields.
• SAS Certification.
