School Nurse - RN (Health Clinic)

Shift: Monday-Friday,Full time Summary: • The School Health Service Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct nursing services to students within the school setting to promote health, safety, and academic success. • The role focuses on preventive care, routine health management, and responding to student health needs in compliance with Pennsylvania nursing standards and district policies. Responsibilities: • Provide first aid and emergency care for illnesses or injuries during school hours. • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and school policy. • Monitor and document student health conditions, including vital signs and symptoms. • Support students with chronic health conditions (e.g., diabetes, asthma, allergies). • Conduct screenings (vision, hearing, growth, BMI, scoliosis) as required by state and district guidelines. • Maintain immunization and health records for compliance with state regulations. • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health needs and follow-up care. Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and administrators to support student health and academic participation. • Refer students to community healthcare providers or specialists as appropriate. • Educate students and families about wellness, hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention. • Provide health-related training to school staff (e.g., EpiPen, seizure response, CPR basics).
