School Social Worker (GA) (Fall 2023)

• Provide direct counseling services to children
• Collaborate with the clinical team to create a treatment plan or an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) for each child, including identifying specific counseling related goals
• Provide staff with essential information to  better understand factors (cultural, societal, economic, familial, health, etc.) affecting a student’s performance and behavior
• Assist in developing positive behavioral intervention strategies
• Assess students with mental health concerns
• Develop staff in-service training programs
• Work with parents to facilitate their support in their children's school adjustment
• Assist teachers with behavior management
• Provide direct support to staff

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

• Active license/ certification as a social worker for the state of Georgia (LCSW, LMSW, etc.)
• Experience working in a school-based setting
• Experience with RTI/ MTSS and other intervention plans
• Excellent communication skills, specifically the ability to communicate with children of different ages and from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
• To be comfortable conducting sessions via virtual meeting platforms 
• A private workspace with secure internet connection
• Must be available during traditional school hours, Mon- Fri
