Job Summary

As a Security Architect you will be a part of an architecture team within the Office of the CTO that sets the vision and overall design of our software solutions. You will work closely with product engineers and stakeholders to improve the security of our products and procedures.

What Will You Do

• Create and maintain secure design and architectural processes.
• Identity emerging patterns of risk within our software solutions and design solutions to mitigate.
• Work closely with development teams to implement secure design principles, processes, and tools.
• Assist with threat modeling against both existing and proposed solutions.
• Provide mentorship on security best practices.
• Drive technical decisions with an eye towards security.
• Help define overall architectural principles, frameworks, and standards.
• Provide input on technology selection and help drive best practices.
• Contribute to the architecture strategy as it aligns to the product roadmap.

Skills You Need

• You are well rounded - you understand the nuance between cloud and on-premise software development, and the security implications of each.
• You strive to push security as far left as possible, making it a seamless part of the development toolchain.
• Your threat models are legendary, known for their depth, accuracy, and descriptive nature.
• You’ve tried just about every security tool out there and know the best choice for any particular task.
• You have a background in software development and know that making security easy to implement is important to help drive adoption.
• You were working to protect from supply chain attacks years before it was making headlines.
• You understand that documenting and explaining security architecture is just as important as designing it.
• You understand short-term goals, but always keep your eye on the bigger picture.

Technologies and Concepts You Should Know

• Required: Competency in a core programming language.
• Required: AWS Cloud Resources (S3, EC2, EKS, RDS, etc)
• Preferred: Container security techniques and tools.
• Preferred: Experience with internal red team engagements targeting engineering infrastructure and software.
