Possible Finance’s accounting team's primary focus is to ensure accurate financial management and reporting for the company. We handle various financial aspects, including but not limited to, record keeping, financial analysis, audit, and tax compliance. By maintaining precise records and providing valuable financial insights, we play a crucial role in supporting the company's growth and sustainability.
The Accounting Team is integral to Possible's overall success. By maintaining accurate financial data and providing timely reports, we enable informed decision-making by management. Our financial analysis and reporting efforts help optimize resource allocation, driving efficiency and cost-effectiveness across the organization. Moreover, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and tax laws safeguards the company's reputation and minimizes financial risks.
We act as a backbone, supporting other teams in their financial operations. We collaborate closely with departments like Operations, Marketing, and HR to ensure smooth financial transactions, expense tracking, and payroll processing. Our insights and financial reports also guide long-term strategic planning, enabling the company to adapt to market changes and capitalize on opportunities.
The Job
As a Senior Accountant, you will be primarily focused on Accounts Payable Management with the goal to automate and scale the function. This work will include daily processing of AP invoices, accounting skills, vendor relationship management, and compliance. Once the initial AP Management work is realized you will expand to partner with the treasury function by generating reports and information to best manage our cash flow.
We also envision the Senior Accountant leading important accounting projects we have scheduled to implement later in the year. These projects can include and are not limited to, a new ERP implementation, cost accounting, operational cash flow, and assisting in creating of policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
5 years with Bachelor's Degree (3 years with an MS) in Business or Accounting.
A strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles, including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) is essential. Domain expertise with financial statements, journal entries, and general ledger management. CPA or Chartered Accountant certification is preferred.
Previous direct experiences with AP management with a preference for a person who has already scaled the function.
Project Management experiences implementing an ERP, doing cost accounting or operational cash flow, and creating policies and procedures to automate and scale accounting across the company.
Detail-oriented and possess excellent analytical skills. Must be able to analyze financial data, detect discrepancies, and identify trends or anomalies that require further investigation.
Effective organizational skills are necessary to manage and prioritize tasks, ensuring that financial records are well-maintained and reports are submitted on time. Familiarity with task-oriented management tools (Trello, Notion, Asana, etc.)
Ability to handle sensitive financial data, high level of integrity, and adherence to ethical standards. Must maintain confidentiality and act with honesty and professionalism.
Proficiency in accounting software (ERP) and Microsoft Excel is essential, preference for experience participating and assisting during ERP conversion.
