Senior AI Agent Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior AI Agent Engineer based in Brazil.

This role focuses on building advanced AI agents that enable users to interact with complex enterprise data through natural language.
You will design and deploy production-grade agentic systems capable of translating business questions into accurate, executable SQL queries.
The position sits at the intersection of LLM engineering, data modeling, and enterprise analytics, requiring strong architectural thinking.
You will work on semantic layers, prompt pipelines, and retrieval strategies that improve how AI understands business context.
A key part of the role is ensuring AI outputs are reliable, explainable, and optimized for real-world enterprise usage.
You will collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, and analytics teams to integrate AI into scalable platforms.
This is a highly hands-on role where your work directly impacts how organizations access and use their data through AI.

• Design and build production-ready AI agents that allow users to query enterprise data using natural language, including conversational assistants and intelligent search systems.
• Develop Text-to-SQL pipelines using LLMs, ensuring generated queries are accurate, secure, performant, and aligned with business logic.
• Create and maintain semantic and business context layers that map domain terminology to structured relational data models.
• Build and optimize agentic AI architectures, including prompt strategies, orchestration flows, and retrieval-augmented systems.
• Integrate AI capabilities into applications and APIs while ensuring scalability, observability, and production readiness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to connect enterprise data sources and continuously improve AI accuracy through testing and iteration.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including strong exposure to AI-powered application development in production environments.
• Proven experience building AI agents, conversational systems, or enterprise copilots using LLMs.
• Strong expertise in Text-to-SQL solutions and working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
• Experience designing semantic layers or business context models that translate natural language into structured data queries.
• Solid Python programming skills, along with strong SQL expertise and understanding of data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, or similar orchestration tools.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (especially AWS services such as Bedrock, Lambda, RDS, S3, and SageMaker).
• Knowledge of RAG architectures, embeddings, vector databases, and AI evaluation methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving ability, analytical thinking, and experience translating ambiguous business needs into technical solutions.
