This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer - Infrastructure (ClickPipes) based in Canada.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced backend engineer to build and scale the infrastructure behind a high-performance real-time data platform operating at petabyte scale. You'll play a key role in designing reliable cloud-native systems, improving deployment automation, and ensuring platform resilience across distributed environments. Working with modern technologies and a highly collaborative engineering team, you'll tackle complex infrastructure challenges while influencing technical direction and architectural decisions. Accountabilities

  • Design, build, and enhance the infrastructure powering a large-scale real-time data ingestion platform.
  • Scale backend services to support increasing data volumes while maintaining high availability and performance.
  • Develop and improve cloud infrastructure across multiple providers, including AWS and future multi-cloud environments.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment pipelines, and operational workflows using Infrastructure as Code practices.
  • Contribute to architecture discussions and technical decisions that improve platform scalability, resilience, and maintainability.
  • Monitor production systems, participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot complex incidents, and implement long-term reliability improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to deliver infrastructure solutions aligned with customer needs and evolving business priorities.
  • Continuously optimize systems based on operational metrics, production insights, and user feedback.
  • Requirements

    • 5+ years of professional experience as a Backend or Infrastructure Engineer.
    • Strong expertise in Golang, Kubernetes, and Terraform (or equivalent Infrastructure as Code tools).
    • Solid experience designing and operating cloud-native applications on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
    • Strong understanding of distributed systems, backend architecture, and platform reliability engineering.
    • Excellent production debugging and root cause analysis skills in complex, high-scale environments.
    • Experience building and maintaining automated deployment pipelines and infrastructure automation.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
    • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to translate operational insights into technical improvements.
    • Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment.
