The Sr. Retention Manager at WP Engine is responsible for developing and implementing engagement strategies to foster customer retention and maximize product value. They work closely with various teams to execute effective lifecycle campaigns, analyze customer data for personalized messaging, and optimize communication experiences. The role involves interpreting data, driving data-driven decisions, and participating in program planning.
The day-to-day
- Developing "agency-as-a-customer" or "brand-as-a customer" discovery and engagement driving comms to help foster retention and ongoing product value discovery
- Partner with Product Marketing, Brand and Community leads to help develop and execute effective lifecycle campaign journeys that foster curiosity, deliver personalized value and deepen our relationship with our customers.
- Along with Campaign Managers, manage the end-to-end ideation and creation of highly targeted and personalized campaigns leveraging our CDP, Segment and our customer engagement platform, HubSpot.
- Analyze customer data to segment audiences and personalize messaging for maximum engagement, in partnership with our User Insights, Customer Success and Product Marketing team
- Develop testing plans in to continually optimize comms experiences
- Write detailed briefs for Creative and technical specs for product and engineering teams (as needed) to ensure data and execution expectations can be met
- Ensure flawless execution by working closely with cross-functional teams including (but not limited to) Marketing, Customer Success, and Product Marketing to ensure that both brand and operational needs are met.
- Use data-driven decisions to dive deeply and understand customer needs.
- Be adept at analyzing performance reports and communicating any immediate optimizations and improvements as needed
- Along with the Director, Customer Retention & Engagement and other Lifecycle Marketing practice leads, participate in program planning, including development of quarterly and annual plans, roadmaps and prioritization of initiatives
- Participate in key stakeholder meetings and executive presentations, including preparing and presenting content
- Continuously build a roadmap of hypotheses and experiments to test to improve results for the business
Required Experience
- You are passionate about understanding our customers, their lifecycle, and their behaviors
- Strong understanding of best practices and global compliance regulations (e.g. CAN-SPAM)
- You are comfortable with data and can dimensionalized results to draw insights from experimentation outcomes
- You are skilled at interpreting data and developing actionable insights and observations
- You have a strong knowledge of A/B and multivariate testing methodologies, and ability to scale post-test
- You are a strategic thinker who is able to consider challenges from multiple perspectives
- You are a strong communicator, able to articulate your point of view, engage in fact-based discourse, collaborate, compromise, and bridge gaps
- You are scrappy-driven, resourceful, and the natural owner of both big ideas and practical daily output
- You are a fast and eager learner willing to take on new challenges and explore ambiguous problems

Base Salary Range
$80,000.00 - $120,000.00
We believe that compensation should be reflective of the impact you have within the organization relative to the market value of your role. The estimated base salary range for this position is as listed above. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Our salary ranges are determined by job role and responsibilities and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for salaries for the position nationwide. The actual base pay will vary based on various factors including job-related skills and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process.
