Job Description:

SUMMARY

Responsible for building and maintaining real estate analytics, automated valuation models (AVMs) and associated analyses within Black Knight's Data and Analytics Division. Creates, develops and programs mathematical models of real estate valuations, trends and risks. Uses classical statistical and machine learning methodologies with multiple public and proprietary data sources to develop AVMs for the residential real estate market.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for building, analyzing, testing and calibrating AVMs, including the use of non-traditional data.
  • Responsible for designing and executing model performance monitoring requirements for AVMs.
  • Designs test cases and test applications for AVM production systems to ensure business needs are met and all models and analytics are successfully implemented.
  • Works closely with the Product Management and Software Engineering teams on the product development of AVMs.
  • Provides support to the Sales team and consulting to clients using these products.
  • Performs ad hoc analyses as needed and assists product line managers with analytical projects.
  • Partners with business line managers to research industry best practices and trends and provide thought leadership in real estate analytics.
  • Performs other analytical tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Finance or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. Master's degree is preferred for senior level roles.
  • Typically requires eight (8) or more years of related work experience in developing mathematical formulas, financial models and computer programs to create complex models of market

    trends and risks. Master's degree and/or related professional certifications are preferred for this role.
  • Extensive knowledge of statistics and data science, including machine learning, as well as the behavior of residential real estate market markets.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python (or R), and C#.
  • Knowledge of real estate, mortgage and economic data.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply these to practical applications.
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems, assimilate information rapidly and work under time constraints.
  • Team player with the willingness to collaborate with other technical and non-technical partners.
  • Client-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and organization skills.
  • Ability to successfully network with other departments where necessary.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in real estate and/or mortgage modeling and with major real estate analytics products.
  • Experience working with a big data platform, including business intelligence and reporting functionality.
  • Working experience in financial institutions and the mortgage or real estate industries.

The anticipated pay scale for candidates who will work remote is $130,000 to $180,000. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, etc. Eligible to participate in medical, dental and vision insurance, life insurance and disability insurance, 401(k) plan and employee stock purchase plan. Eligible to participate in the discretionary annual performance bonus.
