Reporting to the VP of Kubernetes, the Senior Director, Product Management will be our product leader for DigitalOcean's Kubernetes product portfolio. You'll be driving product strategy and innovating on solutions that will help our SMB customers to be successful.
You will get to work with a team of high-energy and dedicated product managers, designers and engineers to deliver products that enable our SMB customers to spend more time on innovation instead of managing infrastructure. This role is a great opportunity for Product Leaders with a track record of managing product teams and expertise in IaaS, PaaS or infrastructure B2B Software.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Oversee Product Management work in your teams, to ensure that development effort meets user needs, is aligned with company goals, and ships product in a consistent, plannable cadence
  • Relentlessly listen and proactively reach out to customers through a variety of channels
  • Drive Product Management best practices to improve consistency and sustainable organizational growth
  • Hire, develop, mentor, and provide ongoing performance feedback to Product Managers on your teams
  • Support senior management during quarterly and yearly planning through roadmap prioritization, definition, and refinement of business cases
  • Drive alignment with partner organizations such as Marketing, Sales, Support, and Operations

What You'll Add To DigitalOcean:
  • 15 years or more of relevant experience in tech and cloud. 5 years or more of leadership experience.
  • Ability to work at multiple levels of abstraction; directly influencing the technical roadmaps of your teams while also communicating the business impact of your unit to executive leadership
  • Proven ability to manage, mentor, and grow a sizable team; a love of management-you succeed when you see your team succeed
  • You're a standard bearer, setting high expectations for yourself and your team members
  • Demonstrated bias towards action tempered with critical assessment
  • Clear data-driven decision making skills even in the face of incomplete or uncertain information
  • Standing strong behind good decisions, course-correcting bad ones, having the wisdom to identify the difference between the two
  • An intuitive understanding of developer needs and a passion to make their lives easier
  • Repeatability- best practices get codified and positive outcomes can be repeated across your teams
