In order to democratize finance for all, we need to be at the center of our customers' financial lives. The Money Movement team is on a mission to provide all innovative payment rails in a safety first approach to our businesses (Brokerage, Crypto & Cash) to help our customers. We'll help our customers by following our core principles: deliver high-quality, customer focused products and pass more value back to our customers than anyone else.
The Money Movement team is in charge of building all money movement platforms and services like Payment methods, Direct Deposits, Wallets, etc. These platforms and services are the backbone to all secure money movement activities in & out of Robinhood.
We're looking for an experienced leader who is excited to lead, mentor and grow managers and engineers on teams spanning areas from experience to backend with the goal of building a world class money movement experience for our users. In this role you will help to build the strategy for the area, partnering closely with product, design, operations, compliance and scale the engineering team to what is needed to meet the ambitions of the organization. You will report to the VP of Engineering for Payments & Platforms and will lead multiple teams with cross-functional engineers.
What you'll do day-to-day:

• Help build and evolve the strategy for the Money Movement platform area to help Robinhood's core businesses - Brokerage, Crypto & Cash
• Build strong partnerships with counterparts in product, design, operations, legal, and compliance
• Lead and participate in critical technical, design, strategy and product discussions with leaders across the organization and company
• Find ways to accelerate the development of complex and heavily regulated financial products
• Champion technical & Operational excellence and ensure quality and security of
• Develop and recruit senior engineering leaders, both managers and individual contributors, to support continued hyper-growth
• Improve Robinhood's programs and processes for project, career, and organizational development
• Contribute to engineering-wide activities around hiring, onboarding, and professional development

About you:

• Six or more years of experience as an engineering leader
• Experience as a technical leader for a business-critical system
• Strong technical skills and a willingness to dive into technical details
• Experience with distributed systems
• Experience working on building product and working closely with cross functional partners
• Experience developing, managing, and evaluating managerial talent

Bonus points:

• Experience in payments products
• Experience with transitioning from co-located to distributed engineering teams
• Strong eye for the platform detail, especially with respect to payments platform

CO Residents: In Colorado, the base pay for this position ranges from $192000 to $255000. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and participation in Robinhood's equity plan.
