The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to help grow and mature Found’s engineering teams, systems, culture and processes. This role will work directly with Found’s Head of Engineering to own the strategy and execution of multiple engineering pods. They will be a strategic engineering voice working with the product and design leadership to craft, scope, and de-risk the product roadmap. They will be responsible for ensuring the execution of that roadmap by ensuring we have the right resources in place, that we are constantly improving our scoping and execution, and that our engineering culture continues to emphasize learning, iteration, and improvement.

What You’ll Do

  • Work with the product and design teams to design quarterly product roadmaps, do high level scoping, and be the primary voice of engineering strategy within your pods
  • Work with the Head of Engineering and other engineering team leaders to design an architecture roadmap that aligns with the product roadmap so we are building the right systems at the right scale at the right time (or as close to it as we can!)
  • Closely partner with the PMs and designers to plan sprints and insure day to day execution and communication.
  • Help build Found’s engineering culture and processes - at our size it's critically important to focus not only on what we are building, but how we are building it.
  • Be a servant leader as a direct manager of multiple pods of senior engineers. Our engineering team is small but extremely talented - your primary responsibility will be to help them perform at their best and give each of them a clear vision of what we’re building now and in the future and how their careers meld with that vision.
  • Be willing to get your hands in the code! While this role is not primarily hands on, every engineering team member from the top on down is expected to be a talented engineer at their core who is always willing to dive in and help out whenever the situation calls for it.

What You Have

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of managing high performing senior engineers - preferably in a startup environment.
  • Strong knowledge of how to design and scope large scale systems and break apart architectures into iterative blocks instead of large waterfall projects.
  • Experience developing products and teams through a high growth phase.
  • A talent for mentoring and driving technical discussions and debates in a positive and constructive way.
  • Strong instincts for how to connect with senior engineers and motivate them to their highest potential.

Bonus Points 

  • Deep experience with Found's tech stack: Typescript, Node, React, React Native, AWS, Kubernetes.
  • Experience in one or more of the following industries: telehealth, behavioral health, or health based SaaS.
